Tell
1) We should wash and dry our hands before handling our contacts, rinse the case with contact lens solution (not water!), and let it air dry upside down.
Why?
Water – including tap water – can contain microorganisms that may cause serious eye infections. Drying your hands helps prevent water from being transferred to your lenses or lens case, and using solution rather than tap water reduces the chance of contamination.
2) We should also replace the plastic case every 3 months.
Why?
Because plastic breaks down over time and creates microfissures where bacteria and microorganisms can hide.
3) We should carefully track the lifespan for our contacts from the day we open them.
Why?
Once the package is opened, the lens begins aging even on days it is not worn. The lens material may change, and proteins, oils, bacteria and other microorganisms can accumulate. Replacing lenses on schedule helps protect comfort and eye health.
